Vintage Word Game 'Phlounder'- Stores as a Book on Book Shelf! - $5 in Montreal, Quebec for sale

Phlounder is a 1962 word game which requires manual dexterity. At the start of the round, special dice are rolled to determine what type of word needs to be spelled (noun or verb) and how many letters the word must contain. All players then start grabbing letter tiles and attempting to complete a word. The first player who does so rings the bell in the center of the playfield. The other players then try to make any word from the letters they already have by adding or removing letters from the end of their row of tiles, but they cannot rearrange the letters they already have placed. Players gain points for completing words and lose points for unused letters in their hand. The game runs for 11 rounds and at the end of that time the player with the highest total is the winner.
Contents: Playing Board, 90 Letter Tiles, Bell, 3 Special Dice, Score Pad and instructions.

This game is in good to very good vintage condition. All components for play are present. Bell metal shows age, as does plastic tray. The pad has been used, but seems to be largely intact. Box shows wear. There are stains to the paper, scuffing etc. . .

Can store as a book on a shelf!
