Seek Lawyer on contingency in Montreal, Quebec

About 3 years ago I was working as Manager in a restaurant and I had some money.
I have given to a "friend" a loan of about $ 20.000.
She paid me a few months and after she disappeared.
Long time later I found out that she died from cancer.
The family avoided me as "the Devil avoids the Holly Water".
Just recently I succeeded to locate one of her heirs.
I sent a letter - they do not want to pay anything.
I have to proceed legally now -- I have no other choice.
BUT
My business went very bad meanwhile.
The place where I use to work closed down 2 years ago and I am on welfare presently.
The Legal Aid cannot help me -- this is not in their Mandate.
